I am now 36 weeks along. (As of tomorrow if you want to be technical about it!) We had our doctors appointment this morning and everything seems to be going great! I took the Group B Strep test this morning and will find out if I carry it or not next Wednesday when I go back to the doctor again! Yup we are to the weekly appointments already! I kinda feel as if I am always there lately so it is a good thing I like the people there! :)
Funny story actually, Back in January, when we found out I was pregnant and was wanting to see the doctor to make sure I really was ( not that the million tests I took weren't all positive or anything hahha), I called my doctor to schedual my first appointment. Well they were super busy so I left my information with the receptionist and said it was fine if they just called me back. About 20 minutes later this lady with a super thick accent calls me back and sets everything up. Out of nowhere she says" You wouldn't happen to be Monica White's daughter would you?" Not a strange question really since my mom knows EVERYONE in town and we look like twins, except my name is now completely different from hers and we were speaking over the phone. Anyway. . . I was kinda taken aback and said yes. Then the lady screamed and started laughing and was obviously very happy about something. Next thing I know she asks me if I know who she was. I was completley shocked and trying to be nice said sorry but no. Then she informs me that she was Jason's mom. Jason was one of my closests friends growing up (literally met the first day of Kindergarten and were inseperable till boys got cooties and then decided we still liked hanging out through middle school). Anywho, We wanted to wait to tell my parents until we know for sure I was pregnant, so having my "other mom", who works with both of my parents on a daily basis, know first scared the crap out of me. She was good and kept the secret though. :)
Anyway it has been nice to see her ALL of the time now.
And back to Mr. Sloan! His head has been pointing down for my last three appointments so somewhere around 6 ish weeks I think. The belly is measing just perfectly along with my due date. My weight gain issue is out the door, 1. cause I haven't really cared to care what I have been eating lately and 2. cause I haven't been gaining drastic amounts anymore even eating all the candy and junk I want.
I am convinced I have the most amazing baby every! I know I am biased but even so here are a few reasons why:
1. at 20 weeks he already could kick (or puch) a rhythm back to me. Yes I did practice our percussion methods performance peices on my belly
2. When I sing my music from last semester he gets super still and (well I imagine) he is being a great little listener
3. He minds already and he isn't even here yet. If he is kicking and I tell him to stop cause it hurts when you kick my ribs in the same spot for an hour. He does it and then sits (yet again im imagining this ) like he is in time out for a good 10- 20 minutes. :)
And last but not least : Scott got a new job this week!! Finally after a year and a half applying at the hospital he got a job there!! We are so excited!! He started yesterday and is already working like a mad man trying to get all trained before our crazy little Sloan deciedes to make his debut.
And one last funny story to end with. Scott and I went to the cabin in Mackay for a last little get away before school started. I was super tired and was laying up against Scott's chest, my belly was between his legs. After 15 minutes of a glorious nap, I woke up and Scott informed me that Sloan had been kicking him in the junk the whole time. He couldn't understand how I could sleep through it cause he was kicking so hard it actually hurt Scott! hahaha I about died laughing. Then we switched places. Scott laid his head on my lap with the back of his head against me belly and tried to get to sleep. after 10 minutes of trying he gave up cause Sloan was kicking the back of his head the whole time. :)
