Scott graduated from Idaho State University with his Bachelor's Degree in Clinical Laboratory Science in August! After a very long summer of working full time in the ER Admissions department and a full time internship in the lab at the hospital. He got hired on in the lab full time which is great I LOVE his schedule! He works 7 on/ 7 off 10 hour shifts. A lot of people think that is a horrible schedule but since I grew up with it (my dad still works 6 on/ 8 off 12 hour night shifts in the ER as a nurse) it feels normal and like we are actually "grown ups" and no longer in the student phase ... hahaha for only a year we hope! Speaking of school Scott is working on his secondary applications to medical schools! He got around 12 out of the 15 he applied to which I think is pretty amazing!
Sloan turned 2 on October 2! I can't believe how fast these last years have gone by. He is such a joy and he makes every day an adventure. We threw him a star wars party and I think it turned out great. He had a blast and it was fun to see him enjoy it so much more this year! :)
I have officially finished my quilt! well ok I still have to hand sew the binding but still I FINISHED the quilt!!! YAHOO!! Sloan has grown in so many ways since I started it and re-started it that I was amazed at how well he minded. He loved to sit in a chair next to me and watch. He would pat the fabric, look at me and say "see mommy it pretty!" He is so funny that way. oh and when the machine started he would go "WOW!! LOOK!" He makes me look at everything through his eyes!
I LOVE the way this all came together! I was having some serious doubts about the backing fabric but I really like it now that it is all said and done!
I even made a Christmas advent calendar, all that is left of that is the binding as well!!
Tada! Super easy quilt kit that my grandma found and picked up in a Logan, UT fabric store for me. I mentioned last year how I wanted something like this last year and couldn't find it. Well she came back from a family funeral of all things with this little surprise for me! It was on sale too!
Halloween was a blast here too! Scott and I dressed up as a 1950's husband and housewife and Sloan was a navy sailor! A big thank you to Tom and Lenny Williams who found Sloan's costume and got it here from Washington for him! It is an actual mini uniform! So cute and he FREAKING LOVED IT! wouldn't let me take it off, he slept in it and wore it the next day... :) One of Tom's uncles actually passed away so Lenny and his family were in town for Halloween which was nice to be able to have Sloan go trick or treating to them since they got his costume. We saw my parents, Tom and Lenny all at once. We also went to our stake trunk or treat and then over to the Syndergaard's to hang out and help answer the door... ok really it was to raid all of their good candy before we gave it away! :) It has kinda started to be a tradition we have done since we had Sloan. Our first Halloween after we got married I got candy and was all excited for trick or treats and none came... not really surprising since we live by the university:) So now we just go and have fun with them... and eat their candy.
We also went to a local farm and got pumpkins:) Sloan is such a helper!
Both Scott and I have gotten guns and have gone shooting a few times. It is a fun thing we can do just the two of us. We went shooting with our friend Brett and his girlfriend Britney. It was fun to met a her and be able to laugh over our not so great shooting skills together. We also went to lunch after and it was really nice to be able to go out with friends! that last picture is of my first shot with Scott's gun which kinda scares me still.
We got 25 lbs. of granny smith apples from bountiful baskets and make applesauce and pie filling. Sloan, again, was a great help... as you can see he mostly stirred and eat the apple slices!
Wowza picture overload my bad! I think that is pretty much all for now. I know I am forgetting a lot that has happened but this has gotten alot long than I anticipated!
:)
